I. Hot Stone Therapy

Hot Stone Therapy:
Is classified as Geo-Thermo-Hydro Therapy that dates back more than 5000 years. Stone
therapy combines massage with the application of hot or cold stones which are either massaged
over the body or placed upon specific areas.
Applying hot stones to the body causes vasodilation, which is causing the blood vessels in the
body to expand and dilate. Stones are heated from 105 degrees-115 degrees, thus resulting in
the muscles tissue to relax and provides a sedative and relaxing effect on the body.

Applying cold stones to the body or Cold Stone Therapy causes vasoconstriction, which
stimulates the nervous system and draws blood and waste away from the blood vessels. Cold
Stone Therapy is effective in the treatment of acute muscular injuries and inflammation.

Benefits of Hot Stone Therapy;
-improves back/shoulder/neck pain
-improves lymphatic circulation
-decreases tension headaches
-reduces overall stress
-improves circulation

Benefits of Cold Stone Therapy;
-decrease inflammation, local swelling or redness
-tension headaches
-sinus congestion
-acute injuries

Stone Therapy can be used to treat many conditions, however, it is recommended that anyone who
has been diagnosed with a condition to seek permission from their medical practitioner before
starting a treatment
