At the beginning of June I talked about what you can eat for a healthy year. For the next 3 weeks in A Healthy Year Part 2, I will talk about “What you can do.”
Tip 1: Losing weight will help to decrease knee and low back pain. There are many options to get you started-join a gym, get a friend to help you with goals, make simple changes with what you eat (see A Healthy Year Part 1), decrease your portion size, walk, bike or do some kind of activity every day, lift weights at home, buy a treadmill or stationary bike if it’s the cold weather that is stopping you. You can also talk to a health care practitioner for other ideas.
